CIS 2149 Online - Introduction to Windows Operating System
This course provides the student with the knowledge to implement, administer, and trouble shoot the Windows XP Operating System. Topics include: installing Windows Professional; implementing, managing, and troubleshooting hardware devices and drivers; implementing, managing, and troubleshooting network protocols and services; implementing, managing, and troubleshooting security; configuring and troubleshooting the desktop environment; and monitoring and optimizing system performance and reliability.
CIS 1140 Networking Fundamentals
Introduces networking technologies and prepares students to pass CompTIA’s broadbased, vendor independent networking certification exam, Network +. Covers a wide range of material about networking, from careers in networking to local area networks, wide area networks, protocols, topologies, transmission media, and security. Focuses on operation network management systems and implementing the installation of networks. It reviews cabling; connection schemes; the fundamentals of both the LAN and WAN technologies; TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting; remote connectivity; and network maintenance and troubleshooting.
CIS 1131 Help Desk Concepts
Prepares students to work in positions that provide customer and technical support through analysis and problem solving. Students will master the role of a help desk analysis, navigate the help desk environment, and learn crucial problem solving skills. In addition, students will learn to troubleshoot hardware problems, printer problems, OS problems, application problems, and user problems.
CIS 2150 - Introduction to Microsoft Server
This course provides students with knowledge and skillsfor installing, configuring, managing, and supporting a network infrastructure that uses the Microsoft Windows server family of products. Topics include: installing Windows 2003 Server; installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware devices and drivers; managing, monitoring, and optimizing system performance, reliability, and availability; configuring and troubleshooting Windows 2003 network connections; and implementing, managing, and troubleshooting security.
CIS 2153 - Implementing Microsoft Windows Networking Infrastructure
Provides students with knowledge and skills necessary for new-to product support professionals who will be responsible for installing, configuring, managing, and supporting a network infrastructure that uses the Microsoft Windows server family of products. Topics include: automating Internet Protocol (IP); address assignment using DHCP; implementing name resolution using DNS and WINS: configuring and supporting remote access to a network; configuring network security; integrating network services of Windows; deploying Windows Professional; and using remote installation services.
CIS 2154 - Implementing Microsoft Windows Active Directory
Provides students with knowledge and skills necessary to install, configure, and administer the Microsoft Active Directory service. The course also focuses on implementing Group Policy and understanding the Group Policy tasks required to centrally manage users and computers. Topics include: understanding the logical and physical structure of Active Directory; configuring the Domain Name System (DNS); server service to support Active Directory; creating and administering user accounts and group resources; implementing and using Group Policy; managing replication of Active Directory; and maintaining and restoring the database of Active Directory.
CIS 122 - Computer Hardware
Provides an introduction to the fundamentals of installing and maintaining microcomputers. Topics include: identifying components and their functions; safety; installation procedures; troubleshooting techniques; and preventive maintenance.
CIS 286 - Preperation for A-Plus Certification
Provides the student with the fundamentals of configuring, installing, diagnosing, repairing, upgrading, and maintaining computers and their peripherals. To fundamentally prepare the student for the A+ certification examination. Topics include: pc hardware and configuration; peripherals; preventive maintenance; customer interaction; virus protection; safety and electrostatic discharge; and networks.
SCT 100 - Introduction to Microcomputers
Introduces the fundamental concepts and operations necessary to use microcomputers. Emphasis is placed on basic functions and familiarity with computer use. Topics include: computer terminology; introduction to the Windows environment, networking, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology with a long history in the industry. I have been teaching for the College since 2004. I reside in Crawford County and teach at both the Roberta Center and Macon Campus.
