Industrial Process Assistant Technical Certificate
FOR A JOB WITH A FUTURE
Industrial Process Assistant Technical Certificate - Developed in partnership with local industry to help meet entry level hiring needs.
The Industrial Process Assistant Technical Certificate requires only two semesters to complete. The program was developed with local industry feedback and support. It covers comprehensive industrial safety procedures, courses in mechanics including measuring skills, shop math, fabrication procedures, fasteners, hand and power tools/shop equipment, manufacturing processes, mechanical components, blueprint reading/ problem solving, introduction to computers, workplace skills and other competencies deemed important by the committee. The work is challenging with lots of hands-on performance and requires discipline from the employee/student in order to complete, but it is also very "doable". Many local manufacturing workers have successfully completed and obtained employment certificates in the last few years. Local industry, such as Georgia Power, has agreed to interview qualified candidates from this.

Prepare to Pass Tests for Entry Level Employment
THE DYNAMIC GEORGIA ECONOMY depends on a high-tech, high-skill workforce. Unfortunately, employers can't find enough skilled workers in state, so they often recruit from other states, regions, and even countries to fill high-paying positions located right here in Georgia. Equipping Georgia's workforce and industries to compete in the global marketplace requires improving how the state prepares students for life beyond high school.
