"This is my first year at Children's Friend and in the pre-k program. I am the assistant teacher in Pre-K C. Last year the center was the only Children's Friend to receive all exceeds on their evaluation. I have been working very hard to make sure we keep this accomplishment. We have a wonderful center and team. I couldn't ask for a better experience than what I am doing right now. When i finish my degree next year at Central Georgia Tech, I plan to be a co-lead or lead teacher at my center. The Early Childhood Education classes I have taken here have really truly taught me so much. I want to really give a special Thank You from the bottom of my heart to Mrs. Misch who has given me the most information and has really healed me find my plan in the field of education. She has been so supportive of me." - Alisa Vastakis - CGTC Student in Early Childhood Care and Education (degree)

CGTC ECCE Students are Winners!!!!!

Andrakita Swint and (Regina) Denise Smith represented our ECCE program at the Skills USA competition held April 18 and 19 at Heart of Georgia Technical College in Dublin, Georgia.  This is the first year our program has participated in the Preschool Teaching Assistant comptetition.  We were not sure of what to expect at the event.  The competition included a written test of knowledge, writing a lesson plan, implementation of the plan, answering questions about inclusion and cultural diversity, and reading a book using a transition activity.  Sounds tough!!!  Well our ladies did an exceptional job!!!!  Denise received a medal for second place  (Mrs. Dailey's now a little hard of hearing due to the scream), and the final results revealed Andrakita placed 5th over all of 11 contestants!!!!  Way to GO!!!!
