What is a Dental Hygienist?
A Dental Hygienist is a licensed preventive health professional, an auxiliary to the dental community, who's educational, clinical and therapeutic practices promote total well-being through the maintenance of optimal oral health.
What is the PSB test?
All applicants for Dental Hygiene must take the Psychological Services Bureau Allied Health Aptitude Test. The PSB exam is adminstered by the professional testing center at CGTC, building J-160B (478-757-3515). Students must pass with a score of 230 or better. The test costs $15.00. There is no registration required. The test may be taken on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of every week at 8:30-2:30. Students can take the test a maximum of twice. PSB test information is available on the CGTC web site. There are PSB study books available at the CGTC Macon Campus to be checked-out or at most retail bookstores.
