Remember
By Calandra Farley
Twenty years from now, on a pretty summer day, when you think back on this time, before it fades away,
Forget to remember the struggle, the hardships, the pain, All the money you paid out and the patient who never came,
Forget to remember how hard you had to study or Saturdays given up for fundraising money,
Forget to remember hurt feeling or hurt pride, failed tests, bad grades, or priviledges denied.
Hold on to the thought, on that pretty sunny day, of the laughter, the fun, the victory you have gained.
Remember the growth, the success, and the love that was had by all who supported you, on good days and bad.
Remember these fine women who gave of their time, who put in the work to pass this fine skill so fine,
Through those two years our lives were not on hold, contrary to the story so often to us told,
No, but we, strong young women that we are, have lived loudly, proudly, and gone the distance thus far.
We have had birth, and death, marriage, divorce, engagement and trouble, not worse for the wear, but closer to each other.
So always remember your comrades in battle. First strangers, now sisters, companions forever.
Remember Allison, good-hearted and fair, and sweet Amber Hoover, quiet but there. Don't forget Amy, so smart and so pretty,
and oh my dear Bridgette, punctual and pithy. Brittany the mediator, who got us the money and Cassandra, a darling, sweet as honey.
Recall lovely Christian, who could be a model, and free-spirited Crystal, her own path to follow. Jennifer, she studies and Jessica's independent.
JoHanna enjoyable, and Linsey's cool and realistic. Megan's gettin' it done, and Olivia the concerned friend. Paula hilarious and Robin gymnastics queen.
And last but not least, before that memory fades, Wendy so stately and Wilchesha sweet every day.
Class of 2009

Class of 2009
As I reflect on the past two years, it’s hard to believe that the end is here.
It seems like just yesterday that the program began.
We were all so nervous and intimidated, but quickly became friends.
Our class has a bond that seems to have exceeded the rest.
It must have been that anxiety from all those darn tests.
Or it could have been those check-offs that caused weekend of dread.
After a day of that mess, I had to go straight to the bed!
Microbiology, Radiology and Dental Materials too…
Then there was Periodontology, Community, and Pharmacology, EWWWW!
Homework to do, chapters to read.
Every quarter, a Power Point, along with a speech, and after that there was Myrtle Beach.
All work and no play they say…but we still found time for fun.
Birthday parties and lunches, or potlucks in year one, could there have been any way to have more fun?
We’re a happy group unless deciding where to eat, better agree or you’ll be dead meat.
Then back to reality and months of studying for boards.
Oh, it was more exhausting than anything before.
Anyway, we made it! It is almost over.
Through friendships, laughter, and bonds that we’ve made, our class and the instructors have been forever changed.
Thanks to the Class of 2009, clinic will never be the same!
